Convenience can be a good thing in many situations. It gives people more free time in their daily lives and, when it’s thoughtfully implemented, can make games feel good to play. Just like in real life though, too much convenience has its downsides. In some games it can rob players of chances to apply themselves and craft more interesting adventures. In others, too much convenience can quickly turn amazing moments into standard, perhaps even dull experiences. Too little convenience can make a game unenjoyable too though, so both gamers and developers alike should be careful of letting things go too far in either direction.Bungie’s argument for not creating a Destiny 3 hinges on the idea that they don’t want you or them to start over. It would be a strong argument if not for the fact that Destiny 2: Beyond Light feels like a reset. In the blink of an eye, Bungie has removed four worlds, countless strikes, numerous pieces of loot, Raids and entire questlines from the game. Europa is new, the Cosmodrome from Destiny is back, there’s one new Strike, a new Raid and a few new enemy types, but that’s not enough to cover what was lost, especially since that was all paid content.If you’ve played any game in the past few years then you’ll understand a harsh reality: load times are getting longer. As our gaming worlds got bigger, textures and geometry got more detailed, graphical effects increased, and load times also increased. While a handful of well-optimized games managed to cut the time, it wasn’t out of the ordinary to wait close to a minute or even longer to load into some games.
Forsaken ensured that Activision bowed out with a bang. The expansion provides many of the things that players had been hoping for and more than makes up for the mediocre offerings of the two expansions that came before it. It may have taken a year to achieve, but Destiny 2 finally felt like a worthy successor to the original gMorrowind’s pure RNG combat is a relic. It was even annoying at the time, so it’s no wonder that Bethesda moved away from it in subsequent games. Even so, it paired with the game’s character development process and gave players a reason to stick closely to their chosen classes and skills. If one didn’t either think of ways to quickly buff/build up their skill or invent tactics to give themselves an edge, then they weren’t going to get anywhere in Morrowind .Of course, this wouldn’t be a new Destiny 2 expansion without a new Raid and Beyond Light delivers a standout one. Deep Stone Crypt fuses atmosphere, storytelling, puzzles and challenge in an immensely satisfying way. It’s the crowning achievement of Beyond Light, even though few players might actually get a chance to enjoy it. After the Raid, there’s precious little else to do. As mentioned before, the removal of content has left the remainder of Destiny 2 a shell of its former self. There’s less of everything in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, but at least the gameplay is still fantastic. Bungie’s gunplay has been spot-on since it first released Halo: Flawless Passage Combat Evolved and they’ve continuously improved it since then. Destiny 2: Beyond Light remains a fun, fluid shooter to play through and will help take your mind off the continuous grind for a bit.Destiny 2: Beyond Light is a beautiful addition to an already gorgeous looking game. Despite releasing in 2017, Destiny 2 remains a beauty thanks to its strong artistic vision. Europa is an enchanting world to run through with its snow effects, glossy white lab interiors, and towering buildings. The game runs well, but the current-gen consoles‘ limitations still hold it back, and load times remain annoyingly long. Hopefully the release of the native next-gen versions on December 8 will truly unlock Destiny 2’s potential on consoles.

Load times aren’t terrible on PS4, but switching over to PS5 offers some substantial improvements, especially when booting up the game.It must be said that classic Halo isn’t necessarily better than a game like Destiny 2. It had matchmaking issues and a progression system that was at least a little, if not very, broken. It also offered players little reason to play outside of simply enjoying multiplayer. It also suffered from feeling „same-y“ after a while. Players didn’t have their own personal armories and, until Halo: Reach hit the scene, everyone always had the same basic abilities. Compared to Destiny 2, Halo offered players little in the way of personal options. If one was to find an edge, they had to either do it through power-ups, clever team tactics or just pure skill.
